Education is provided through pre-primary and primary schooling, secondary general and secondary technical/vocational schools, special schools, third level institutions and non-formal institutions and centers. Higher and Tertiary Education is provided through a wide range of means and methods in public or in private institutions, through full-time, part-time, distance and other forms of attendance.

Cyprus has a dual taxation agreement with more than 50 countries. This means that any earnings on property, business, inheritance and much more will not be touched or in any way claimed in the own country of residence. Cyprus has the lowest corporate tax in the EU which attracts investors from all over the world. Besides the low corporate tax rates, the numerous double tax treaties that Cyprus has concluded with other countries, offer tremendous possibilities for international tax planning through Cyprus in view of the fact that any tax paid in a country with which Cyprus has a treaty is deducted from the Cyprus tax payable on the same income and Cyprus does not impose any withholding tax and dividends, interest and royalties paid by business companies. Additionally there is no inheritance tax.

Wine has been part of Cyprus history since over 4,000 years. Today Cyprus wine is about old tradition and modern technology. There are 45 recognised wineries (and lots of smaller mainly for house production).

There is an abundance of archaeological findings which provide ample evidence that viticultural activities in Cyprus date back to the depths of time. There are unique ancient mosaics portraying god Dionysus (Bacchus), very old wine-presses at the villages of Omodos, Lania and elsewhere and amphorae and other wine-related pots crowding the island’s archaeological museums. They are all tangible proof of Cyprus’ viticultural history through the centuries, testaments of an awe-inspiring heritage in winemaking.
