KOUMANDARIA FESTIVAL
A taste of tradition at the picturesque Kapilio village!

A short drive out into the surrounding countryside will take you to Kapilio village, just outside Limassol, to enjoy the local Koumandaria, an amber-coloured sweet dessert wine made in the Koumandaria region of Cyprus, along with local delicacies and a traditional music and dance program.
Tourist buses will be available free of charge, from Dasoudi tourist information office, departing at 7:30 p.m. The buses will depart from Kapilio village to return to Dasoudi tourist information office at 11:30 p.m. A tour guide will be onboard to provide information about the area and the festival. Με 29 ψήφους και 18 κατά, (5 αποχές) η κοινή πρόταση ΔΗΣΥ, ΔΗΚΟ και ΕΔΕΚ υπερψηφίστηκε από την Ολομέλεια της Βουλής. Η πρόταση νόμου οδηγεί σε μειωμένο φόρο ακινήτων κατά 75% σε σύγκριση με τον φόρο που τέθηκε το 2015.
Η νομοθεσία για φόρο ακινήτων υπαγορεύει καταβολή φόρου που αντιστοιχεί στο 25% σε σχέση με τη φορολογία του 2015, στην περίπτωση όμως που οι φορολογούμενοι διευθετήσουν τις οφειλές τους μέχρι το τέλος Οκτωβρίου. Απ’ εκεί κι έπειτα η καταβολή του φόρου θα είναι με μειωμένη έκπτωση. Από το 2017 κι έπειτα θα τίθεται χρηματική ποινή της τάξης του 10%.
Σημειώνεται ότι με την ψήφιση του πιο πάνω νόμου δεν τίθενται φορολογικοί συντελεστές, ούτε και αφορολόγητο όριο πέραν –ωστόσο- των φόρων της τάξης των 25 ευρώ, αφού το διοικητικό κόστος θα είναι μεγαλύτερο.
Σημειώνεται ακόμη ότι τα δημοτικά τέλη παραμένουν ως έχουν, ενώ θα πρέπει να σημειωθεί ότι με τις πολιτικές θέσεις –όπως έχουν ήδη εκφραστεί- οδηγούν σε κατάργηση του φόρου ακίνητης ιδιοκτησίας από το 2017 κι έπειτα.
The recently completed Old Port project has turned the Limassol traditional fishing port into a place full of life, for both locals and visitors who wish to enjoy their time by the sea. The Limassol Wine Festival is one of the largest annual festivals in Cyprus, held since 1961. It is inspired by the ancient festivals dedicated to Dionysos the God of wine and celebrates the history of wine production in Cyprus. The festival offers free wine alongside theatre, shows, dancing and stands with traditional food specialties.

Cyprus-Russian Festival will take place in the first weekend of this summer, on the 4-5th of June.
It’s the 11th time when the Festival brings together all those who love Cyprus and Russia. The program of the Festival is getting more varied every year.

Cyprus Land – A little island. A lot of history
The Cyprus Land project aims to travel the visitor back in time. Cyprus’s most important structures from the Middle Ages are recreated in miniature to illustrate, on a small scale, the way of life and economy of the castles and other monuments of Cyprus and to create a picture of life on the island when it was at the center of Mediterranean civilization.
Having painstakingly collected material regarding the major sites of the island, using modern technology and visualization tools, the theme park attempts to bring to life some of the scenes from the past. Relying on old prints, drawings and pictures and with the help of 3D printing, the original appearance of numerous monuments has been recreated.
This exhibition project is set to make a visitor’s experience more interesting, exciting and richer in knowledge about the wonderful island and the culture of its people.
